Do we really "Think"?

Written by Jeet on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 12:50 AM

"Albert Einstein was a genius!!He was the greatest thinker of all the time!!" Hav'nt we heard this innumerable times and each time we're filled with awe and respect for the man,the greatest intellect of this era.Hats off to the man.But my point is not to adulate him(for that millions are there) but take away some of the credit perhaps.
Did i sound pernicious?God!! I am!!
I will profess that later on that how would i do that.Bear with me till that!
For quite some time(actually some years),a thought happened to me unusually numerous times and that had led me to believe something unusual but not unbelievable. Why that apple fell on the head of Newton?even if it fell,it might have fallen on many people before that. But the fact that made me curious that why only Newton thought about gravity? The falling off something was'nt so unusual phenomenon. For time immemorial, this seemingly mundane phenomenon must have occurred millions of time.So when one million one'th time it
fell on Newton, why only Newton happened to think about that. Were the last millions of people a dumb, fool or anything like that? On similar line of reasoning, every great revolutionary idea that shook the world to its core and transformed the way the generation
used to think has been the outcome of an instant,be it the concept of steam engine by James Watt, the concept of electric bulb by Edison and so many to name. Thus, the instant has changed the world.Time is most powerful manipulator.
Like a momentarily brilliant flash of light, the thought just occurred. The thought was'nt the outcome of a lengthy process. For a moment, it sounds weired. But yes,its like this only.Just try to think that how do we think? So many times when we try to find out the solution of our daily problems or to think about the gift to give to our b'day friend or try to solve complex math problem or to think that how we are going to play the next shot on the next ball in cricket,we appear to think and we get the idea that yes, this gonna be the way i am going to do it.This is the thought! Was it a step by step process? Was it like the assembly process of a car in manufacturing unit that is done step by step? No,it was'nt!Yeah, its not like that!Necessarily it was just a moment and the thought was in our head. And voila! we have the idea, the thought that we wanted to think about.Lets ask ourselves that did we really put any effort in thinking, for the thought that we wanted. No,not really,it was just the instant and the thought, the idea was in our head.
The food for thought.Is'nt it?
So what's the real matter?
I occurred to have got a possible explanation.Essentially,we just behave like a radio which when tuned to a frequency of particular radio station listens the corresponding program,in our case program synonymise thought. We human are just a mere radio.Mere object. When we
appear to think something,we are actually tuning ourselves to the radio station to recieve the radio signal. As soon as,we are tuned we get the idea and we claim the thought to be ours and astonish the world. Thus, the revolutionary idea is admired by the world and inspires the world. That was precisely the case with all the great thinkers. They merely tuned themselves and revolutionized the way world lived till the day.On the contrary, anybody else
did not and could not, perhaps, even able to revolutionize his own life. The next should be-perhaps the most interesting one-where is the radio station or(lets say it) "thought station"???The station that generates the thought and transmits to us.Perhaps the God!yeah! The God.Many of us have doubt on this entity named God.Lets discredit God and say that something is out somewhere which is continuously generating the thoughts of
all the types like various radio programs on different frequencies and transmitting it.We,the human, the users, the consumers, the recievers are tuned to different frequencies as per our nature(made by someone like God(a discredited entity)) and recieves the thought.
So someone jokes, why we are not Einstein or Mozart or Newton? The answer is simple-we never tuned ourselves to anything. We never actually concentrated ourselves on one frequency. Most of us always remain in interference zone means we always try to recieve signal from every station that resulted in nothing but noise. If u want to listen radio mirchi then tune the radio to the 94.8Mhtz(i guess). If u try to listen the radio mirchi and
FM simultaneously, you are listening to noise,is'nt it?
So all the great thinkers of any field were necessarily tuned to thought station and thus they clearly listened the thought. So once again hats off to the greats like Einstein,Newton and all of them who contributed to the humanity in any way!!
Lets tune,Lets concentrate, lets listen, lets be seekers than creakers.
Signing off,
Jeet-The Quest

Amazing name - The quest...
Well couldn't agree more.. Its the time instant that makes great ppl great.. :)
We actually try to focus on million things ( tuning in to many stations as u say.. ) , and as a result we get nothing or at least no what we expected.. So we need to learn o focus on that 1 thing.. which we name "my Goal" .. and rest follows ..

Contol of mind-the way to success......Mind always sees what it want to see..i do agree with u no doubt mind is unstable and as difficult to control as the air but even then, when we focused in our goal only we can achieve as many things which were unachieveable previously so keep good thoughts laways in the background of your mind, ready to come forward the moment it's free,,,,tc
